Our Story
Cavalier Homes began building homes in Addison, Alabama, in 1984. Over the decades, our facility developed a strong reputation for quality construction, skilled craftsmanship, and dependable service. In 2009, Cavalier joined the Clayton Family, beginning the next chapter in the plant’s history.
In 2020, Cavalier and Southern Energy operations came together under one roof in Addison. Bringing the two product lines into a single manufacturing facility allowed our teams to combine their experience, resources, and expertise while continuing to build the homes and brands our retailers and customers know and trust.
Today, that shared operation is Clayton Alabama – one team and one facility supporting both the Cavalier, Patriot, and Southern Energy Product Lines.
Built In Alabama
Building homes in a controlled manufacturing environment allows us to maintain consistency throughout construction while reducing many of the delays and variables associated with traditional site-built construction. From framing and drywall to cabinetry and final finish, each home moves through a carefully managed process designed around quality, efficiency, and durability.
Our homes are built to meet applicable federal construction and safety standards administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (H.U.D.), with quality checks throughout the manufacturing process. As an ISO 14001 certified company, Clayton Alabama is committed to responsible environmental practices throughout our manufacturing process. We continually work to reduce waste, use resources efficiently, and improve our environmental performance.
